"I asked him (Bashar al-Asad) to abdicate in order to preserve the reputation of the opposition so that his destiny would not be like Gaddafi’s and others, God forbid." Al-Sadr replied on a question about his previsions written statement on.

"There are more than one point that should not be ignored, First: I did not demand that Bashar must abdicate, but I also demanded the abdication of Abed Rabbo and the ruler of Bahrain (Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa) as they are still suppressing their people under the pretext of legitimacy by terrorist and inhumane ways, .

"I call the world is going to save the Yemeni, Bahraini and Syrian people, otherwise things will not go unnoticed," al-Sadr said.

 "The Syrian people deserve safety, peace and affluence" he added.
