speach of Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr on the conference of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahraa held by His Eminence in Najaf

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“On the birthday commemoration of the Lady of the world women, our Lady Sayyida Fatima al-Zahraa, the daughter of the Prophet Mohammed bin Abdullah (peace be upon him and his family and righteous companions), I would like to tell you an idea may be modified and developed to unify religions and for achieve the peaceful coexistence that will be the first move to the perfectness and highness God willing” Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr said in his speech.

“So I say: Allah Almighty was right when He says : “And the Messenger has said "O my Lord indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned". And “Who have made the Qur'an into portions.” So if we contrive this great book we would find that many verses were abandoned.” Al-Sadr added.

“It is unfair to concentrate on some verses rather than others without knowing their meanings and it is unsuitable to concentrate on some verses that bring a personal benefit and leave those that have a public benefit” Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr said.

“if the mufasir or ulamaa concentrate on this blessed verse: (Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam) or the verse: (And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him and he in the Hereafter will be among the losers) while he give up the other verses that have flexibility, opinion freedom and aqeeda freedom, so he does not do justice to Muslims whether he knows or does not know” the Iraqi Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr emphasized. “Here we want to reflect Islam with a new image alongside other religions to reach to the desired aim without violence, fight, and severe disagreement as what happens nowadays.”

Many people gave up the dialogue – dialogue of religions arguing with verses or lame excuses for violent purposes. I do not mean only the extremists who claim they are Muslims, but the other religions and sects too.: He said in the speech in the Conference of Fatima al-Zahraa the title of the Islamic Unity.

Al-Sadr said : “We see what happens in Burma such as violence burning and torture and the West that claims it is belonging to the prophet Jesus, son of Maryam, that is using violence, occupation and so on. For example its nuclear and military armory, even those who are belonging to the Judaism and its prophet Moses bin Imran as what happens in Palestine.”

“As Muslims who says the religion of Islam is the true one. So we have to educate our souls before others and we have to use dialogue as long as we are strong, before we demand others to use it, and not to use weapon between us but if it is necessary for self-defense.”

“We have to know that heaven religions have come with known approach and they little by little deviated little by little over ages.  Judaism has come then many of Jews have deviated. Then God sent the Jesus then many of Christians have deviated then He Almighty sent the prophet Mohammed bin Abdullah as a messenger an awitness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner to complete the high morals, not to marginalize other religions.” Al-Sadr explained.

Al-Sadr confirmed: “We have to make the image clear in order not to give a chance for those who want to deform the image of Islam. So even if some or many people who are belonging to these religions have deviated, but that does not mean nonexistence of some people who do not deviate.”

The question is who to differentiate between those who deviate and those who do not? And this is the main reason for writing this topic and it may be useful to me and to you and to all lovers of peace and Islam :

Allah Almighty said in two verses:

First: (Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve).

Second : (Indeed, those who have believed [in Prophet Muhammad] and those who were Jews or Sabeans or Christians - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.)

Definitely, its repetition is not in vain but for affirmation, insistence and wish to apply verses that were abandoned and some people considered their words as distorted God forbid.

So it is necessary to concentrate on these two verses through several approach :

1-    The heaven religions are :

1-    Those who believed (in Islam) who are public Muslims and special Muslims – who believes in the prophet Mohammed and the light that came with him (PBUH).

2-     those who were Jews that they are belonging to Musa bin Imran (peace be upon him).

3-    Nasara: they are the Christians. Their prophet is Jesus bin Maryam (peace be upon them).

4-     Sabeans : they are a sect known for the most of people and they maybe have a heaven book.

And from the same two verses we can understand the second approach that it is the principles through which we can extinguish between those who deviate and those who do not. The principles are:

1-    The belief in Allah Almighty.

2-    The belief in the Last Day.

3-    The rightious work.

“We can also extrapolate another principle – the belief in the Messengers, Allah says : (Indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and His messengers and wish to discriminate between Allah and His messengers and say, "We believe in some and disbelieve in others," and wish to adopt a way in between Those are the disbelievers, truly. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment But they who believe in Allah and His messengers and do not discriminate between any of them - to those He is going to give their rewards. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful).

Third approach: Whoever has these above principles will be :

1-    His reward is with Allah Almighty .. He said : they will have their reward with their Lord

2-    And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Then, my brothers, every religion from these above ones does not believe in Allah or associates others with Him or take an body as a gods or does not belief in the Last day and commits the haram and the forbidden and take violence as a way for him, so he is not from those “no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve”.

O my brothers in religion – I mean Muslims and o brothers from all Monotheistic religions – I mean Jews and Christians and Sabeans – and others – who are still believing in God and the Last Day and doing good deeds come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah ." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims."

And as Allah Almighty says: (Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah ." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].")

Come to a word that is equitable between us and you that we will believe in God and not associate anything with Him and do good deeds that please Him and let’s give up disagreements aside and let make the mind and dialogue among us and leave our disagreements to Allah Almighty who says: (Indeed, those who have believed and those who were Jews and the Sabeans and the Christians and the Magians and those who associated with Allah - Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah is, over all things, Witness).

So we see that whoever tries to separate between religions in this world is wrong. It not our duty to separate between them but Allah Almighty separates between them in the Last Day. Allah is the witness on all religions that they are true or false and fixed or deviated - so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him deviate and he will be aberrant among all religions that they have common dialogue, love and peace.

Let you know o beloved brothers that the desired thing is to worship Allah Almighty and obey Him and to have yaqeen that we would return to Him and righteous work is raised.

And every Muslim or Jew or Sabean or Christian has no right to embrace any religion while he does not apply its principles. And whoever applies principles will have the eternal happiness with Forgiving Lord and no fear will there be concerning him. And "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord.” Muqtada al-Sadr said in the end of his speech today Sunday 19 March 2017
